BRIGHTON, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - A skier triggered an avalanche in the Brighton back country Friday afternoon. The skier was nearly buried and lost all gear.

The skier was carried about 700 feet in the slide.

The skier is expected to be OK.

Utah Avalanche Center issued this advisory Friday saying "danger is considerable for human triggered slides on many slopes approaching 35 degrees and steeper."

The Utah Avalanche Center also says steep lower elevation shady terrain should be avoided due to wet loose avalanche potential.
