LINDON, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – A murder suicide tragedy in Spanish fork comes just two days after another murder suicide... involving two children in Syracuse.

Joshua Boren worked for the Lindon Police Department.

When he didn't come to work on Thursday night, police went to the family's Spanish Fork home.

When they got there...they looked through the windows to see blood on the carpet and empty shell casings.

Inside they found the bodies of Boren, his wife, his wife's mother, and their two children.

Kelly Boren's Facebook photos show she was a fitness enthusiast who loved spending time at the gym and spending time with her kids.

Kelly, 32, worked in the Bluffdale City Financial Department. Both she and her 55-year-old mother Marie King were from Northampton England.

Josh, 34, graduated from high school in Nevada, attended college in South Dakota and had worked for the Utah County Sheriff's Department for 7 years before he was hired as a Lindon patrol officer 3 months ago.

A neighbor described Josh as his 5-year-old daughter Haley's hero who dropped her off at kindergarten each day. Heley and her 7-year-old brother Jaden attended American Leadership Academy in Spanish Fork.

Kelly posted numerous pictures from a trip, showing the family at Disneyland, Sea World, Legoland and the Beach. Two weeks later, on the day she and her children would be murdered Kelly posted a collage if Haley & Jaden from 2010 with the now chilling comment "Who says they get to grow up?"
