That's what the state's medical examiner described as he told the jury about Hser Ner Moo's injuries.
She was raped and murdered at a South Salt Lake apartment in 2008.
Her body was found in the bathroom of an apartment belonging to Esar Met. He is on trial for her murder.
"They were fairly extensive injuries to the little girl," Todd Grey testified in the second week of the trial. "The injuries were deforming and defacing to some degree."
At times the jury appeared uncomfortable as they listened to his testimony. Hser Ner Moo's parents were not in the courtroom during his testimony. The defendant, Esar Met showed no emotion.
"She died as a result injuries to head, her neck, her torso, and her left wrist," Grey testified. "I certified that this was a homicide."
The medical examiner testified Hser Ner Moo's was beaten from head to foot, indicating it was a violent attack. A picture of a swollen forearm was shown as part of his testimony.
"Further findings in her neck would indicate there was some degree of strangulation or choking that is associated with these injuries," Grey testified.
Her bruising body masked the injuries done internally. Her heart bled, ribs were cracked and lungs damaged.
The medical examiner claimed all caused by blows to her body.
"I found evidence of injury to her back, to her lungs, to the left and to her right side that would indicate to me in conjunction to what we see on the outside of her back that a fairly significant amount of force struck her," he testified.
Grey also testified that Hser Ner Moo was still alive when those injuries occurred.
"If she was conscious it would be a painful injury," Grey testified.
He says Hser Ner Moo died about 12 hours before she was found.
