The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. when one Union Pacific train rear-ended another. The train was it while it was stationary. One conductor and an engineer were on each train. Three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
There were reports that 4 cars were completely off the rails and 3 more that were partially off.
Weber County Sheriff's Office would not comment on the cause of the crash. They say clean up and any pending investigation now fall under the responsibility of Union Pacific Railroad.
