Police say a 12-year-old girl was walking home from school westbound on 3500 South about 8900 West when a man grabbed her and tried to pull her into his car.

Police are looking for a white male between 30 and 40 years old, 6'1" and 300 pounds with a goatee. He is described as wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, and a black baseball hat with flames on the side.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a baby blue colored older style mini-van with windows only in the front driver and passenger side doors.

The suspect pulled up alongside the victim and called out to her and told her to come to his car.

The victim thought it was someone who may know her family and started to walk towards the car. The suspect got out of his car and grabbed the victim’s arm, and started to pull her to the car. The victim screamed and the suspect let go of her arm.

The victim ran away the suspect ran back to his vehicle and fled in an unknown direction. The victim ran home and reported the incident.

Officers searched the area, but were not able to find the suspect.
