SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Utah) - In order to help keep Utah's air clean, UCAIR and UTA are teaming up to give away 5,000 free transit passes to people along the Wasatch Front.

The passes are good for seven consecutive days of unlimited use on UTA trains and buses between February 17 and March 31.

The hope is that the passes will encourage people to leave their cars at home and use more environmentally friendly forms of transportation.

UTA will be giving away RideClear passes at UTARideClear.com and select locations over the next several weeks.

To find out when a new batch of cards has been released, people are urged to check the web site or follow UTA on Facebook <Facebook.com/rideuta> and Twitter <Twitter.com/rideuta>.

RideClear passes are good for seven days after the first day of use. Passes are limited to a maximum of two cards per household over the course of the promotion.

The Winter 2014 RideClear program is made possible through generous support from UCAIR.
