Throughout the game there were periods of extremely awkward and sloppy play by both teams.
Gordon Hayward started hot in the first quarter for the Jazz and slowly dropped off from there. He went 3-17 in the field tonight but did manage to score 17 points for Utah having a solid night shooting free throws. He got seven total rebounds along with seven assists for the Jazz.
Forward Marvin Williams racked up fourteen total rebounds for the Jazz putting forth a very impressive defensive effort for his team.
Guard Alec Burks lead the Jazz in scoring tonight with 26 total points.
The 76ers for their part were not going down without a fight. They were 42.1% shooting 3-pointers tonight versus the Jazz’s 18.8%. Guard James Anderson lead the Philly 3-point charge going 5-8.
Forward Evan Turner racked up 21 total points for the 76ers along with five rebounds. Center Spencer Hawes got eleven total rebounds for his team along with 16 total points. Forward Thadeus Young had 19 total points while Guard Michael Carter-Williams added an additional 19 points of his own along with eight assists.
Towards the end of the game the Jazz started to look gassed as they let the 76ers come within one point with 2:37 left to play. That is when Burks took over, scoring 10 straight points as the Jazz pulled away for the victory.
The Jazz will take on the Nets next at home on Wednesday the 19th after the All Star Weekend.
