A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY, WINTER STORM WARNING, WIND ADVISORY, and HIGH WIND WARNING are in effect for parts of the state.
Thursday's Pinpoint Forecast: A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for the mountains (Winter Storm Warning for the La Sals and Abajos), a WIND ADVISORY for Cache Valley and near the San Rafael Swell, and a HIGH WIND WARNING for the Wasatch Front and Tooele Valley. Low pressure is interacting with an arctic front. Light rain and snow across northern UT will head south this afternoon, and the wind will start ramping up. Near blizzard conditions could be seen around Daniels Summit and Soldier Summit later today with the front. Highs will be in the 30s and 40s up north, with wind chills in the 20s. Southern UT will have 40s and low 50s, but 20s and 30s in the mountains. Tonight, powerful winds up to 60mph+ will develop along the Wasatch Front, especially Davis County. Friday will be mostly sunny, brisk and chilly up north with 30s and 40s, 20s in the mountains. Southern UT will see heavy snow in the mountains, especially the La Sals and Abajos, with rain in the lower elevations. Temps will mainly be in the 30s and 40s down south. Saturday will be partly cloudy and breezy up north, but cloudy with more showers and mountain snow down south. Sunday, the storm will start to pull away but some snow and showers will linger across the south. Next week looks sunny and warm for all into Thanksgiving.
