Monday's Pinpoint Forecast: Roads are real icy and snow covered across the state, and temperatures are frigid! Today will be mostly sunny, but very very cold. Highs will only be in the 0s for the higher terrain, 10s to near 20 for most of the state, and St. George might get above the freezing point this afternoon after starting out with a morning low of "0". Tonight will be the coldest night yet, with most of the Wasatch Front near 0, and the normally colder spots will dip between -15 and -35 tonight! Tuesday will be another partly to mostly sunny day and continued cold. Highs mainly in the 10s and 20s. Wednesday, some warmer air will start to move into the state, but inversions will trap the cold air and pollution along the Wasatch Front. Thursday, some of the higher elevations will start to warm up, along with southern Utah melting that snow, but the Wasatch Front, Uinta Basin, southeast UT, and most valley locations will trap the cold air. A minor system could bring a few mountain snow showers for late Friday into Saturday, but the weather pattern really looks quiet with moderating temperatures toward the weekend.
Drive safe and stay warm!
