Christmas From Heaven: The Story of the Berlin Candy Bomber

Utahn Gail Halvorsen was a Candy Bomber during WWII. He talks about the new book: Christmas From Heaven.
Utah's Gail Halvorsen is known as The Candy Bomber...and there's a new book about him out just in time for Christmas called "Christmas from Heaven: The Story of the Berlin Candy Bomber".

Halvorsen was a pilot and his job was to airdrop food and supplies to the people of West Berlin right after World War II ended.

He decided to drop treats down to little kids as well, so he used little white parachutes to get candy and gum to the ground.

The book tells the story.  And it comes with a special treat: famed broadcast journalist and author Tom Brokaw brings this remarkable true story to life with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, captured on an accompanying DVD.

Halvorsen will be at a book signing Friday, November 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Barnes and Noble at 330 East 1300 South in Orem.
