Brewvies starts kickstarter campaign to raise funds to make the digital switch

Brewvies has been a Salt Lake staple for nearly 20 years. There you can catch your favorite movie and grab a pitcher of beer, but the bar/movie theatre may have to change the way it does business if it can't upgrade it's equipment to allow it to show the latest films.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Utah) – It’s been around for more than a century, but 33 millimeter film is soon becoming extinct and with it, the movie theatres that still use it.

Brewvies has been a Salt Lake staple for nearly 20 years. There you can catch your favorite movie and grab a pitcher of beer, but the bar/movie theatre may have to change the way it does business if it can't upgrade it's equipment to allow it to show the latest films.

They've started a Kickstarter campaign to raise $70,000 dollars needed to upgrade to digital projectors, movie screens and audio equipment.

Brewvies owners say if they can't come up with the funds they'll have to change their business model, they're just not yet sure what that will look like.
