"We try to approach each week the same," said head coach Kyle Whittingham. "We have a preparation process that we adhere to, and this week is no different."
"We're playing another football game," added BYU quarterback Taysom Hill. "This one comes with a little more pressure and a little more anxiety, but it's another football game."
This rivalry game is unique in that the series is taking a two-year break after Saturday's game in Provo. But no matter the team's records, we should no doubt expect the unexpected. Six of the last eight games have gone down to the final play.
"You never know what to expect in this game," said Utes linebacker Jason Whittingham. "Either team could be ranked high and another team could be ranked low and this is still a close game. This is a bigger game than other ones on our schedule."
"I'm a competitor and I don't like losing," said BYU linebacker Kyle Van Noy. "I'm 0-3 against them and I want to be 1-3."
