Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Scott Kazmir will finally make his return to the mound in the major leagues.
The left-handed pitcher was activated off the 15-day disabled list and will make his first start in over two years when the Indians take on the Astros.
After the two-time All-Star signed a minor league deal with Cleveland this offseason, he won the No. 5 starter's job during spring training, but landed on the disabled list on April 2 due to an abdominal strain.
Kazmir has not appeared in a major league game since April 3, 2011, when he was a member of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
In addition, infielder Cord Phelps has been optioned to Triple-A Columbus. He went hitless in eight at-bats in three games with the Indians this season.
