That means there is a new breed of cougar in town and it is in no way related to the BYU mascot.
According to research from CougarLife.com, Provo is the official cougar capital of Utah with more cougars than any other city in the entire beehive state.
Marlo Jordan, spokeswoman for the website, said the outcome was determined by two factors:
Provo has 2.38 times as many cougars than any other Utah city
Provo’s cougars on average date three times as many cubs than the next move active city in Utah, Salt Lake.
Jordan said factors such as divorce rates and college towns were also taken into consideration.
“Our site, CougarLife.com, is definitely proving that there is a change and a shift in younger guys dating older women,” she said.
The website also gathered information on the best places the women like to hang out. Their top choices include Communal Restaurant, Spark (recently closed), and a Salt Lake Bees baseball game.
CougarLife.com was founding 2009 and currently has 4 million members. Over 3,600 members are from Utah.
