A FREE BACK-TO-SCHOOL BREAKFAST ON SEPT. 4 FROM 6-9 a.m.
Salt Lake City, UT – August 28, 2013 – Utah McDonald’s restaurants, along with Utah PTA, Dairy Farmers of Utah and Utah Pork Producers, are inviting parents of students in kindergarten through 8th grade (ages 15 and under) to their local McDonald’s restaurant on the way to school Wednesday, Sept. 4 and enjoy a free breakfast from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.. The student’s free breakfast includes an Egg McMuffin® or Egg White Delight McMuffin®, and a choice of 1% milk, fat free chocolate milk or a small Minute Maid® orange juice.
“Whether students eat at home, at their schools or at McDonald’s, it’s important to have a well-balanced breakfast every day,” said Clark Stringham, a Utah McDonald’s owner/operator in Salt Lake and Utah counties. “As many members of the McDonald’s family are parents themselves, we feel it is important for us to contribute to the well-being of children in our communities. A wholesome breakfast that includes food groups such as whole grain and low-fat dairy can help students start the day in a ready to learn.”
The free breakfast offer includes the wholesome Egg White Delight McMuffin introduced earlier this year. Egg White Delight McMuffin is prepared with freshly grilled 100% egg whites, extra lean Canadian bacon and white cheddar* served on a muffin made with 8 grams of whole grain. The Egg White Delight McMuffin supports McDonald’s “Commitments to Offer Improved Nutrition Choices,” announced in 2011. The sandwich’s Canadian bacon delivers quality protein, helping customers incorporate foods from some of the USDA’s MyPlate recommended food groups. At 250 calories, the Egg White Delight McMuffin is McDonald’s newest wholesome breakfast choice under 300 calories in addition to Egg McMuffin, Fruit & Maple Oatmeal and Fruit N’ Yogurt Parfait.
Customer requirements for the free breakfast offer include: students must be accompanied by a parent; child must be present for offer and no group redemption. Offer good while supplies last at participating restaurants and no substitutions.
