This year is the 20th Anniversary of the premiere performance of the Legend of Timpanogos.
The Legend of Timpanogos depicts the story of the Nez Perce Indian Tribe who welcomed Timpanac from a neighborhing tribe in famine, to find a new home for his people. The chief's daughter Ucanogos and Timpanac fall in love, but before they can be married Timpanac must compete against others from the tribe for her hand. But before that act is competed, Timpanac is thrown from the mountain and killed. Ucanogos prays to the Great Spirit to take her in death so they can be together. They become as one, the heart of Mount Timpanogos.
You can see the performance September 27th & 28th at Covey Center for the Arts. For ticket information, please visit: Covey Center for the Arts.
