At this apartment complex in Cedar City it was the basement level apartments that were hit the hardest. For Daniel Young and his roommates the flood water covered about an inch of their apartment floor.
Young said, "It came up through here and soaked through."
Saturday afternoon they saw the rain start coming down hard but didn't think anything of it until Young went into the kitchen and saw the floor covered in water.
"I got up and saw the water covering the floor so I called the apartment manager and then started bailing water," said Young.
All they could do was start shoveling themselves out.
Young said, "We just started grabbing buckets and started scooping up the water. It only came up the baseboard a little way."
But when they opened the door they quickly realized how bad the situation was.
"Yeah I opened the door and the water was up like six inches, and it just came rushing in, so I just shut the door as quick as I could," explained Young.
They moved everything of value to higher ground.
Young's roommate told ABC 4 Utah, "Guitars, TVs, all the electronics."
While most of their belongings were saved they've still got a lot of cleaning up to do to get back to normal.
