The Deseret News reports a judge signed a motion last week dismissing one count of felony forcible sexual abuse against Greg Peterson in Wasatch County.
The larger, Salt Lake City-based criminal case against the former Republican activist and businessman had not been dismissed as of Tuesday, but District Attorney Sim Gill had previously suggested that would happen.
Peterson had been ordered to stand trial on charges stemming from five alleged sexual assaults. He was accused of raping or assaulting women he met at church activities or on websites for Mormon singles.
The 37-year-old was found dead in his Heber City cabin Oct. 23, shortly after posting $2 million bail.
