Looking For a Good Book

4 book recommendations that will work for anyone in your family!
Alicia Cunningham picked out a few "comfort" books for January. These are not books that will change your life or make you smarter. They will just make you HAPPY on a bad weather day!

  • For Every Woman: The Lucy Valentine series by Heather Webber. The series starts with "Truly, Madly". This series has it all: great humor, a little romance and a new mystery in every novel. It is the complete package.

  • A Book Your Husband Cannot Tease You About: Harlan Coben is a cross-over author because women and men are devout fans. He has been writing for decades and puts out a book a year (thankfully!). His latest book is "Six Years".

  • A Book For Parents & Teens: "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio. Hands down the best book I read in 2013. This book tells the story of a young man with a facial deformity. For years he hid behind a helmet but now his parents are having him go to 5th grade -- without the helmet. It's a FABULOUS book for both parents and teens to enjoy.

  • A Great Book To Read Aloud To Your Kids: "Junie B., First Grader: Aloha-ha-ha!" by Barbara Park. You can imagine that you, too, are escaping to Hawaii. This series has been around for 20 years but I have not found anything better -- and I have looked! It amuses parents and little ones without the potty humor.
