A winter weather advisory remains in effect through 4 pm Thursday for continued light snowfall for the Western Uintas, Northern mountains and mountain valleys. Another round of rain and snow is expected to impact this same area tonight and tomorrow morning with and additional 4-7 inches expected. This is all due to a strong and vigorous cold front that blew into Northern Utah overnight with strong winds and heavy rain and snow.
This storm system will remain almost stationary across Northern Utah for the next several days. Temperatures and snow levels will continue to drop into the low 40's for daytime temperatures through Thursday. Salt Lake City will have it's opportunity to see their first snowfall tonight and early tomorrow morning and then again Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Little to no snow accumulations are expected.
It's safe to say that the hot summer and warm fall we had has now been replaced with the season's first winter storm. Stay tuned to ABC4 for the most up to date weather information and our Pinpoint Severe Weather Team will continue to monitor winter's first punch for Northern Utah.
