Wednesday's Pinpoint Forecast: A RED FLAG WARNING is in effect for northern and western Utah today for dangerous fire conditions. Lightning caused fires have blown up over the last few days, with the latest fire being the "Rockport 5" fire near Rockport Reservoir, east of Park City. Drier air with fewer thunderstorms will move into the state. Skies will be mostly sunny, and the wind will pick up this afternoon, gusting up to 25mph out of the south. Skies will be smoky for northern Utah, with the Patch Springs fire potentially sending a lot of smoke over the Wasatch Front to the 'Back. Temperatures will be HOT, up near record highs the next few days, 80s in the higher elevations, 90s up north, close to 100 for the Wasatch Front, and 100-105 down around St. George. This weekend, the monsoon moisture will return with numerous thunderstorms scattered across the state. Temperatures will cool down to near average with the increase in storms.
Have a great Wednesday!
