Thursday's Pinpoint Forecast: HEAVY RAIN possible Sunday-Monday for parts of Utah. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue to spread across the state today through Saturday. Skies will generally be partly cloudy, with highs in the 80s and 90s across the state. The mountains will be considerably cooler (50s) with any shower activity. Right now, south of Baja California in Mexico, an area of low pressure is developing into a tropical system that will be named "Ivo". Moisture from Ivo will be drawn up into the state by Sunday. Southern Utah could be in for heavy, steady rainfall, that could produce flooding. Some of this rain will try to spread north through the state by later Sunday. Some computer models keep heavy rain in the state through Monday. This is a situation that requires close attention, considering the amount and duration of this heavy rain event.
Have a good Thursday,
~ Curtis Ray
