The crash happened at around 2:00 a.m. near the State Street exit on I-215.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers are investigating why the driver hit the bridge, but they believe the woman veered off the side of the road and slid her car in between two cement barricades in the middle of the freeway.
Troopers say the woman then slammed into a large pole holding up a bridge crossing I-215, and her car caught fire.
All lanes were reopened and the bridge was deemed safe by the Utah Department of Transportation.
Investigators are now trying to identify the woman, but her body was badly burned from the crash. It is confirmed she was driving a car from Wyoming.
