TEASDALE, Utah (AP) - Authorities say a wildfire burning in southern Utah has grown to 1,500 acres west of Capitol Reef National Park and forced evacuation of the Birch Creek residential area.

Fishlake National Forest officials say the fire is burning southwest of Teasdale in steep, rugged terrain and is zero percent contained.

Several roads in the area have been closed while firefighters battle the blaze, which started Sunday. Its cause remains under investigation.

Seven crews and two helicopters are being used to fight the fire.

A community meeting is set for 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bicknell Community Center.
