The U.S. Bureau of Land Management says it has selected 45 wild horses and burros for buyers.
The Wild Horse & Burro Festival will be held Thursday and Friday at the Deseret Peak Complex.
The BLM says it has a database to turn away buyers with a conviction for animal abuse or cruelty. It's requiring buyers to be at least 18 and have a safe trailer.
The BLM says it will give away ungentled horses for $125 on first-come, first-served basis Thursday. Then, the agency will hold a silent bid for saddled horses, starting at $250.
