The Daily Herald reports that the Timpooneke trailhead will be closed during a time when it is most in use. Kathy Jo Pollock with the U.S. Forest Service says thousands of people use the trail during the time it will be closed this year, from Aug. 5 to Sept. 5.
The trail passes a half-dozen miniature waterfalls and a large alpine meadow. The trial eventually goes to the top of Mount Timpanogos.
Pollock says hikers can still climb Mount Timpanogos using other trials, but those add up to seven miles to the trip.
