West Wendover man severely beaten

WEST WENDOVER, Utah (ABC 4 News) - West Wendover Police responded to a call at the intersection of Butte Street and Oak Street where a man had been severely beaten.
UPDATE: West Wendover Police Department located and arrested the two male adults that had been charged in this incident yesterday evening. Salvador Avila, 20 and Abraham Morales, 24, were charged with Battery with a Deadly Weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm.
 
The suspects were found together at a West Wendover address and were arrested without incident. Their bail is set at $10,000.00 each. The victim had sustained multiple injuries that included fractures to his extremities, fractured ribs, and a collapsed lung; he has since been released from the hospital.

Police Chief Ron Supp commented, "I am very pleased with the efforts displayed by our officers.  We have brought two dangerous individuals to justice"

According to police, the victim, a 23-year-old male, is a resident of West Wendover. He sustained severe injuries to his head, face and extremities. He was transported by medical helicopter to a Salt Lake area hospital in critical condition.

The victim, as well as witnesses, told authorities he was beaten by two males, using a blunt object as a weapon. Investigators said there is no known motive for the beating at this time.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the West Wendover Police Department at (775) 664-2930. Anonymous information can also be reported to Secret Witness at (775) 664-3188.
