State elections specialist Justin Lee says more than 1.2 million people have registered to vote in the upcoming election, and nearly 13 percent of those people have already voted.
Several counties also still processing about 14,000 voter registrations that were filed in the final days to register before the election. The last day to register was Monday.
Lee says the state didn't track early voting as closely in 2008, the last year there was a presidential election. But he says the numbers show a lot of people are turning out early to vote.
