The fire broke out Friday afternoon and was contained Friday night after burning roughly 50 acres on Squaw Peak Mountain near Rock Canyon Park.
Provo fire officials say two juvenile males were detained and questioned by investigators before being released to their parents.
They say the investigation is ongoing, and investigators hope to screen the case with prosecutors next week.
Officials say the blaze is a reminder that the wildfire danger in Utah is still high and the public must exercise caution.
Fire Marshal Lynn Schofield told Provo's Daily Herald that the fire cost an estimated $100,000 to fight.
No homes were threatened and no evacuations were ordered.
