A 13-year-old female Chihuahua, “Bella” (pictured) was taken. “Titus” a 2-month-old white and tan male Chihuahua was also taken. Titus just arrived at the Utah shelter from a shelter in Los Angeles.
Humane Society of Utah Executive Director Gene Baierschmidt is “very worried about the health and well being of these two dogs and would like to have them returned as soon as possible, so [they] can continue to care for them and make sure they go to good homes.”
According to eyewitness accounts, two girls between the ages of 14 and 16 (one blonde, the other brunette) entered the Humane Society late Wednesday afternoon and spent an hour at the facility before leaving with the two dogs.
They were seen driving away in a white, late model four door Toyota Corolla with one or two other occupants in the vehicle. Partial Utah license plate numbers/letters may include CDO454.
Utahʼs Humane Society is offering a $500 reward for verifiable information leading to the arrest of the individuals responsible for the theft of these animals.
