SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A report by the University of Utah finds the 2012 Sundance Film Festival generated an overall economic impact of $80 million to Utah, providing nearly $6.9 million in tax revenue.

The report found the overall revenue impact was about $10 million more than the 2011 festival generated.

Attendance, at about 46,000 people, was just slightly higher than last year.

The University of Utah's Bureau of Economic and Business Research performs the yearly report after the festival.

The report released Wednesday says the 10-day festival in January supported more than 1,700 jobs and generated $69 million in media exposure for the state.
