SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A 46-year-old soccer referee remains in critical condition four days after a 17-year-old player punched him.
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A 46-year-old soccer referee remains in critical condition four days after a 17-year-old player punched him.

A group called Fut Continental rented a soccer field from Eisenhower Junior High School in Taylorsville last Saturday for youth soccer games. This group was apparently the organizer of a game that ended tragically.

A 46-year-old referee made a call against a 17-year-old player. The player responded by critically injuring the ref with one hit, according to Unified Police Department spokesman, Justin Hoyal.

Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill says he can't release information about the suspect because he is a minor

The suspect remains in the Salt Lake County juvenile detention center. He is facing criminal charges.
