Search is on for suspect exposing himself to kids

LEHI, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Police in Lehi say someone is driving around and exposing himself to children in the Jordan Willow neighborhood at 400 south and 3000 west.
LEHI, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Police in Lehi say someone is driving around and exposing himself to children in the Jordan Willow neighborhood at 400 south and 3000 west.

“It's definitely disheartening,” said Jessica Culter, a mom. “You'd think things like that don't happen in these kinds of neighborhoods.”

Police say they've received two similar reports in the last month of a man driving up to kids selling candy or lemonade and exposing himself.

“He's pulling over and when they come up to give him the product or get the money he's exposing himself while he's sitting in his vehicle,” said Sgt. Damon Faught, Lehi Police.

The children he's targeting police say are between the ages of six and eight years old.

“That's pretty scary since I have two kids between those ages and I have a daughter that is just slightly over that age so I hope they catch the guy,” said Randy Colton, a dad.

While police work on catching the guy, they're asking parents to be extra vigilant and now that school's out to remind their kids of stranger danger.

“When the kids are out, it's warm, they're out playing, they may be not monitored as well as they usually are and it just makes it easier for people who are going to prey on this type of thing and make contact with these kids,” said Sgt. Faught.

Some parents tell ABC4 Utah to protect their kids, they’re going one step further.

“They've been wanting to do lemonade stands and I think it's sad that even though we would be out here with them I think it's sad that I would be discouraging a lemonade stand because of people who are sick and would do things like this,” said Angelique Archuleta, a mom.

Description of the suspect and vehicle is limited. But police say the suspect is a male with dark hair between the ages of 20 and 30 years old.

He's driving a silver or gray crossover vehicle with a ski rack on top. If you have information you're asked to call police.
