SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - A Saratoga Springs boy was injured in an auto pedestrian accident Saturday morning.

Corporal Matt Brownlee with Saratoga Springs Police said a 6-year-old boy was hit by a car near the intersection of Caracara Drive and Osprey Trail. The impact knocked the boy to the street and fractured the femur in his left leg.

"It was a 90 degree turn in a cul-de-sac where the accident occurred," Brownlee said. "It's just an area where kids are normally at play and the car just didn't see [the boy] as he came off the sidewalk."

Brownlee said the boy was conscious and breathing when he was air lifted to Primary Children's Medical Center.

It is unclear if the driver will be cited for the accident.

Residents said many children live in the neighborhood and many times drivers can travel too fast. They said the accident is a reminder for children to look both ways before crossing the street and for drivers to slow down.
