Salt Lake Bees announce 2013 schedule

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Sports) - The Bees will begin the franchise’s 20th season of play on Thursday, April 4 at home against the Tucson Padres.
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Sports) – The Salt Lake Bees announced today the team’s 144-game schedule for the 2013 Pacific Coast League season. The Bees will begin the franchise’s 20th season of play on Thursday, April 4 at home against the Tucson Padres. The team will play 72 home games and 72 road games in 152 days. All games can be heard live on 1280 The Zone (1280 AM/97.5 FM) from the “voice of the Bees,” Steve Klauke.

Salt Lake will host division rivals Colorado Springs Sky Sox, Tacoma Rainiers and the 2012 Triple-A Champion Reno Aces, as well as Pacific South Division opponents Fresno Grizzlies, Las Vegas 51s, Sacramento River Cats and Tucson Padres for eight games each. Salt Lake will also host all four American North Division teams for four games each against the Iowa Cubs, Memphis Redbirds, Nashville Sounds and Omaha Storm Chasers. The Bees will travel to American South Division teams for four games each against the Albuquerque Isotopes, New Orleans Zephyrs, Oklahoma City RedHawks and Round Rock Express.

The 2013 season marks the club’s 13th year of affiliation with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, in which Salt Lake owns an 879-845 record, four division championships, and one trip to the PCL Finals. In 2012, the Bees surpassed 9.5 million in total fan attendance dating back to the franchise’s establishment in 1994.
