Eagle Point - in the mountains 18 miles east of the ranching town of Beaver - was closed for eight years before the managers of a New York-based hedge fund took it over in 2010.
Chief executive and co-owner Shane Gadbow says he's spent millions of dollars to upgrade the ski area and lodge despite scant business.
Gadbow says he's working to draw skiers from Las Vegas, more than 200 miles away. It's about 225 miles from Salt Lake City.
Eagle Point is the former Elk Meadows/Mount Holly ski area - one of Utah's smallest but with plenty of snow.
