The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials awarded the team its Incident of the Year award.
Provo's Daily Herald reports the Provo dispatchers made sure calls about a train derailment and a small plane going down were responded to quickly and efficiently.
The dispatch team also had to deal with other routine 911 calls at the same time, and was working with four dispatchers instead of the usual five or six.
In addition, they were working on a new computer system that made inputting calls into the computer much more difficult.
