MIDVALE, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - Police are on a man hunt for a armed robber after he fired a gun at a motel clerk demanding money.
The robbery happened at the Super 8 Motel on 7048 South 900 East in Midvale just after 1:30 a.m. Friday.
ABC 4 Utah talked to the motel clerk inside who was shot at, he is okay, but still very shook up.
"I Felt him blow my shirt back, says the motel clerk.
The clerk tells ABC 4 Utah the robber came bursting through the door with a 9 millimeter pointed it right at his face and demanded money.
"He had the gun like I said already out he took a shot, and I was like wow, and kind of freaked-out and I just pulled open the cash droor, said the clerk.
He says he then ran around the corner to the back, grabbed his own gun for protection and locked the door behind him. Meanwhile the robber grabedthe cash droor, only to discover it was empty and walked away disappointed.
"Yeah he got a whole bunch of nothing and it pissed him off and that was another concern, was he was going to be mad about that," said the clerk.
Luckily, for this Super 8 emloyee only a chair and wall have bullet holes left over from this early morning robbery. "He hit right here so I don't know if that was a warning to catch my attention or what but he definitely took a shot."
Police are still looking for the armed robber. He is facing aggrivated robbery and aggravated assault charges. He is described as a caucasian male, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, and wearing a black hoodie. If anyone has information they are encouraged to call police, your call will remain anonymous.
