SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - An 84-year-old woman is found murdered in her Salt Lake City home. Police arrest a man in his early 20's believed to be the woman's grandson.

A call came in to 911 just after 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon that something was happening at a home on J Street in the avenues. When police arrived they found the 84-year-old Joyce Bexter murdered.

Paymon Saebi has lived next to the elderly woman for three years.

"It was devastating because when I was coming up the police were just pulling in," said Saebi.

Saebi believes the woman lived alone but says her daughter and grandson visit. He hasn't seen the grandson in some time.

"I couldn't remember if it was the grandson because he looked different but later we found out it was a relative," explained Saebi.

22-year-old Zachary Cole Weston was taken into custody at the scene.

Saebi said, "I saw a young man being pulled out of the house with bloody hands being put in the back of the cop car."

It was then for Saebi that the tragedy became all that much more unbearable.

"Kind of reality hits that somebody kills their grandmother," said Saebi. "How could you do that?"

At this time police haven't confirmed whether Weston is Bexter’s grandson.
