The five remaining Catholic sisters at Mount Benedict Monastery tell the Standard-Examiner they'll leave as soon as they sell their home.
Monday's announcement was the first time the sisters have spoken definitively about leaving since they realigned with St. Benedict's Monastery in St. Joseph, Minn., two years ago.
The order of sisters came to Ogden in 1944 on a mission to build St. Benedict's hospital. Two of the sisters still work at Ogden Regional Medical Center, while the others serve elsewhere in the community.
A total of 155 sisters have come to Ogden over the years.
The nuns run a foundation focused on women and children. It currently supports 18 different organizations.
