ALPINE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Fire season in Utah is here and after the flames comes burn scars and mudslides.  But there's hope for those in the path of destruction thanks to new technology about to be installed by the state.

Four weather reporting stations will be place at burn scars in Alpine, Saratoga Springs, Fountain Green and Oak City. They'll measure rain fall which the National Weather Service will monitor and send out warnings if it's high enough to trigger a mudslide.

Homeowners will even be able to monitor the readings in real time online, so they can make their own safety decisions.
