He only had the 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 for 6 hours before crashing it on black ice.
David Dopp won the car November 12 at LaVell Edwards Stadium during Maverik's "Joe Schmo to Lambo" contest.
A Maverick's spokesperson says it costs more than $350,000, it's powered by a 640 horse powered engine and can rocket from zero to sixty in 3.4 seconds.
Mavrick delivered the new car to David's home December 17.
He took his family and friends for a ride in his car around his home until noise complaints forced the joy rides to the outskirts of Santaquin.
David said he was giving his last ride to a friend when he took a curve at between 40 and 50-miles-per-hour.
"We were coming up a hill and going down a corner and we hit a patch of black ice," said Dopp.
His car spun backwards.
He hit a fence post damaging his fender and stop light.
David paid $3,500 to insure his car for six months. His down payment is $1,000 to get the car fixed.
His wife is just relieved he walked away from the crash unharmed.
"Everything is going to be OK and we'll move on from here," said Annette Dopp.
David says his damaged Lamborghini is on on a trailer to Las Vegas for repair.
He will sell the car when he gets it back and use the money to pay off bills and buy his wife a new car.
