Starr is also famous for appearing on the VH1 program 'Celebrity Rehab' in 2010, where he appeared to have kicked a heroin habit.
Starr was a passenger in a van driven by Travis Meeks, who was pulled over by a SLCPD officer on Thursday night.
Officers checked on Starr's information and found an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest.
According to a police report, Starr told the officer, "Hey officer, have you ever heard of Alice in Chains? I used to be the bass guitarist for them. We are down here in Utah, me and Travis, putting together a new band."
A search of Starr revealed that he had unauthorized pain medication on him, and he was arrested on the outstanding warrant.
Starr also faces additional felony possession drug charges.
