The Have A Heart foundation provided the home to the Parkers. The 3-bed, 2-bath home fulfills the needs the Parker family and their four-year-old daughter requires.
The family was chosen from a pool of applicants by the Have A Heart Committee because of their youngest daughter Emylie's need for constant care and a wheelchair-accessible home.
Emylie was born with Myelomeningocele Spina Bifida, Arnold Chiari II Malformation and hydrocephalus-disabling birth defects. Despite all of the tragedy and struggles this little girl has faced, her mother Melanie calls her a "miracle."
But despite her progress, Emylie requires constant care and special equipment to survive.
The Parker's new home has room for her equipment and a bedroom easily accessed by the family room and kitchen helping make her constant care easier.
