The Daily Herald reports Wednesday that the idea to set limits is inspired by examples of pet owners with several pets, including one with eight pit bulls, another with nine cats, and one who is breeding goats on his property.
The City Council is directing staff to prepare a proposed ordinance for officials to consider in the coming weeks. Residents who currently have more animals than what would be allowed would be grandfathered in under the new ordinance.
