Friday at 8am, with a band and maybe even a line waiting to get in, Salt Lake's Trader Joe's will finally be inviting shoppers to come on board.
This is the first Utah outlet of the beloved California grocery chain.
And this day has been eagerly awaited by thousands of Trader Joe's fans in Utah.
Rory Violette, the captain (manager) of Salt Lake’s new Trader Joe’s told
"I am aware of the frenzy erupting here in Salt Lake City."
TJ fans have actually been driving by the store at 634 East and 4th South hoping to get a glance inside.
What they will soon see are products unique to the store.
In fact, about 80% of the products sold here are under the Trader Joe's label.
But Violette told us that a visit to Trader Joe’s is more than a shopping experience,
"We don't take ourselves too serious. We have a really good time at Trader Joe's and we want grocery shopping to be fun."
Fun at TJ's includes the handmade signs drawn by its own employees.
Among the most popular TJ items are exotic frozen entrees, goodies in the sweets section and, yes, seaweed snacks.
But one thing Utahns will not find here is the legendary “Two Buck Chuck."
For those not familiar with it, this is an inexpensive wine sold at many Trader Joe’s stores.
As Violette explained to us,
"We will follow the Utah laws, alcohol laws. We will carry the 3.2 beer
and we will not be able to carry any wine or spirits."
This new Trader Joe's will be open seven days a week, 8am to 9pm.
