Utah Division of Forestry spokesman Mike Melton says cool temperatures and higher humidity Sunday helped crews get the 123-acre blaze on Smith Mesa under control. It was fully contained at 2 p.m. Monday.
Authorities believe the fire started when a campfire got out of control Saturday afternoon and spread on private land about five miles north of the town of Virgin.
The fire had threatened some cabins and burned around two other cabins and a camp trailer, but no damages or injuries have been reported.
