This weekend, northbound I-15 is scheduled to be reduced to two lanes between Lehi Main Street and 2100 North beginning Friday at 8 p.m., with all lanes scheduled to open Monday by 6 a.m. Construction is scheduled to continue each weekend through September (excluding holidays and BYU football game days).
“We are asking drivers traveling through Lehi during the next several weekends to consider leaving early or staying late, and to avoid Saturday afternoons or Sunday evenings,” said John Gleason, UDOT Public Information Officer. “Avoiding the heaviest travel times and using alternate routes will help reduce traffic delays due to I-15 construction.”
During the project, crews will be repaving the bridges and installing new expansion joints. These repairs will extend the useful life of the bridges and prevent the need for more costly repairs in the future.
Drivers should also be aware of another UDOT project this weekend scheduled on I-15 in Salt Lake County Friday night and Saturday night. Crews will be completing bridge maintenance work at the 11400 South interchange, and northbound I-15 will be reduced to two lanes between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. each night.
Lane restrictions will be in place on one or both directions of I-15 each weekend during construction, and UDOT encourages drivers to get the latest traffic information by downloading the UDOT Traffic app, available for iPhone or Android, or by visiting the UDOT Traffic website at udottraffic.utah.gov.
