Court records show Weber County prosecutors have dropped a dangerous weapon enhancement included in the charges originally filed against Matthew David Stewart.
The enhancement could have added up to 10 years to any sentence Stewart might receive if convicted of a felony.
Stewart is charged with one count of capital murder, seven counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of marijuana production in connection with the Jan. 4 shootout.
Ogden officer Jared Francom was killed and five other officers were injured.
Prosecutors say they plan to seek the death penalty if Stewart is convicted.
A message seeking comment from Stewart's attorney was not immediately returned Tuesday.
