Aggravated murder charges filed in Midvale triple murder

MIDVALE Utah (ABC 4 News) - The suspect in a triple murder could be facing the death penalty.
MIDVALE Utah (ABC 4 News) - 26-year old David Fresques is facing three counts of aggravated murder and a single count of attempted aggravated murder.
Those charges were filed Friday in Third District Court by Salt Lake's District Attorney.

Fresques was arrested days after three people were shot to death and a fourth victim was wounded.

"Mr. Fresques was the alleged shooter and based on the investigation, we decided to file the charges," says Sim Gill, the Salt Lake District attorney.

Two women and a man, Shontay Young, Danielle Lucero and Omar were gunned down methodically inside the home.

"We had two individuals shot in the lower part of the house, then the shooter went upstairs and the next victim was shot in the bedroom there," Gill says.

And then Fresques is accused of finding his fourth victim Vickie Myers in another bedroom. She was shot in the shoulder but survived.

Fresques has ties with gangs and was sent back to prison for violating his probation.
But prosecutors say the case leaves it open for the death penalty.

"We are not doing that at this point," says Gill. That's an option for us after the preliminary hearing and we'll wait to see then."

Meanwhile, a second person wanted in connection with the murder Davis Fotu continues to elude police. Gill would not comment about a motive for the shooting.
